How it WorksNuLengua utilizes Skype(TM) to conduct live spanish instruction in real-time. Please click here to download Skype(TM). Step 1 - Establish Skype ServiceYou will need access to a functioning headset (click here for more information) and a Skype account. Skype is the most widely used VoIP service and is free. We recommend that you familiarize yourself with how Skype works - the service is user-friendly and will give a chance to test your headset. To get started with your Skype account, click here.Step 2 - Register with NuLenguaYou must register with NuLengua. During your registration, you will be asked to provide some basic information. Registration is free and implies no financial commitment on your behalf. To get started with your registration, click here. NOTE: For a limited time only, new signups will receive their first lesson free. Signup today and take advantage of the free credit in your account.Step 3 - Schedule a LessonOnce registered, you will have the ability to view the availability of lessons and choose a time you find suitable. If and when you schedule a lesson, you will be required to purchase a credit. Each credit costs $10. For every lesson you schedule, you must have at least one credit in your account. When your lesson is successfully scheduled, your account will be deducted one credit.Step 4 - Connect with your TeacherPrior to the start of your lesson, you must log onto Skype. If you are unfamiliar with this service, it is recommended that you log on 10 minutes prior to your scheduled lesson. You should also log onto your account at NuLengua.com where you will see a message indicating that you have a lesson beginning soon. Click the "BEGIN CLASS" button, which will appear within 10 minutes of your scheduled lesson. The teacher will call you over Skype at the designated start time.Step 5 - Enjoy your LessonThe student and teacher conduct the lesson, with focus on conversation and the personal learning objectives indicated by each student. As much as possible, instructors attempt to conduct lessons in Spanish. This is a key facet of immersion-style learning. It may seem frustrating at first, but students learn to adjust quickly and find that this approach greatly enhances the learning experience.
